Humanoid Education Packages: Start, Lab or Research?
Our humanoid education comes in three configurations: Start, Lab (standard) and Research (advanced). They differ in training days, workstation spec consulting, and the number of remote technical support sessions per year. Here are the differences and the questions to settle first.

The three configurations differ in training days and annual technical support. Start covers environment setup and 2 days of training. Lab (standard) adds workstation spec consulting and annual remote technical support (2 sessions per month). Research (advanced) adds 1 day of advanced training in reinforcement learning and sim-to-real, and annual remote technical support (4 sessions per month).
Our humanoid education configurations contain services only. Robots are sold separately. The main robot is Booster K1. T2 can also continue on the same education system by arrangement with the manufacturer; the teaching materials are based on K1, and the T2 course is provided by separate agreement.
What differs among the three configurations?
| Configuration | Includes | Annual technical support |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Environment setup + 2 days of training / simulation asset package | None |
| Lab (standard) | Start + workstation spec consulting + annual technical support | 2 remote sessions per month |
| Research (advanced) | Lab + 1 day of advanced training (reinforcement learning, sim-to-real) + annual technical support | 4 remote sessions per month |
Lab and Research include everything in the configuration before them. So the order of choosing is "what to add".
When is Start enough?
If the goal is to set up the environment and take the first training, look at Start first. Start includes environment setup, 2 days of training, and the simulation asset package.
But Start has no annual technical support. You need to decide in advance how to handle the questions that come up as you continue teaching or research after the training ends.
What does Lab (standard) add?
Workstation spec consulting and annual technical support (2 remote sessions per month). It is the configuration to compare if you are putting together new lab computers, or want remote help while operating through the year.
What does Research (advanced) add?
1 day of advanced training in reinforcement learning and sim-to-real, and annual technical support rises to 4 remote sessions per month. It is the configuration for labs that want to cover the whole process of moving results learned in a virtual environment onto a physical robot. The training is the basic 2 days plus 1 more day.
What should you decide before choosing?
- Will you need remote support after the training? If not, Start; if so, compare Lab and Research
- Do you need to put together new lab computers? If so, look at Lab or above, which includes workstation spec consulting
- Will you cover reinforcement learning and sim-to-real? If so, look at Research, which includes the advanced training
- How many robots do you need? The number of robots and seats varies by institution, so we decide it together in the quote
How is support provided?
Remote support, weekdays 09:00 to 18:00. Lab is supported remotely 2 sessions per month through the year, and Research 4 sessions per month.
Frequently asked questions
Is the robot included in the configurations?
No. The three configurations contain services only, and robots are sold separately. The main robot is Booster K1, and the teaching materials are based on K1. The T2 course is provided by separate agreement.
Does Start include technical support?
Start has no annual technical support. Annual technical support is included in Lab (2 remote sessions per month) and Research (4 remote sessions per month).
How many days is the training?
2 days of training; the Research configuration adds 1 day.
How much does it cost?
The three configurations are education and support services, purchased separately from the robot, and are given by quote. Robot prices are in the price tables on the K1 and T2 product pages. The items that go into a quote are set out in our article on humanoid education equipment prices.
Can we see it first?
There is a 30-minute remote demo (sharing the simulator screen) and a 90-minute on-site demo with a physical robot (schedule by arrangement). Term operation and long-term rental are arranged separately.
